AmCham visits VUTB with US Ambassador Merrick
On December 10th, we took the familiar path from Dusni to Brno University of Technology's Rectorate to brief US Ambassador Nicholas Merrick on the state of advanced technology and how Ladislav Janíček and his team is driving it to greater heights.
We witnessed just how much energy and enthusiasm and dedication Rector Janicek has to creating the next wave of science and the next generation of scientists, especially as he stood beaming as VUTB students explained the projects they are pursuing as part of the school's challenge-based learning programs.
Then we noted the long list of connections the different faculties have built with US institutions and American companies operating in Brno. Several provided their perspective on progress: Radek Vaclavik of onsemi, Jaroslava Rezlerová of ManpowerGroup, Petr Strelec of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Libor Urbanec of Garrett - Advancing Motion, Ondrej Krajicek of Y Soft, Michal Klimes, and Michal Oborny of GE Aerospace.
Finally, AmCham President Pavel Sovicka of Panattoni CZ & SK and Weston Stacey outlined how we can generate more business research investment per capita by improving the tools we have and being flexible enough to take advantage of every opportunity.
AmCham CZ is grateful for the deep and expanding co-operation with VUTB, and for Ambassador Merrick for taking the time for learning more about how we are working together to build the transatlantic economic relationship.
