Eversheds Sutherland strengthens its banking & finance team

The Prague office of Eversheds Sutherland continues to expand its ranks and, following the arrival of two colleagues at the beginning of the new year, welcomed a new principal associate, Vojtěch Laga, in January 2025.

Vojtěch Laga will be responsible for the banking & finance practice, focusing primarily on secured lending, including domestic and cross-border syndicated corporate lending, particularly in the CEE/SEE region, related matters and all other areas of debt financing

He will also deal with cases in the field of restructuring and insolvency, corporate law, M&A and general contract law.

Prior to joining Eversheds, Sutherland worked in several international offices in Prague and temporarily in Bucharest.

Vojtěch graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague and studied at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom (Certificate of Higher Education in Legal Studies) as part of the Erasmus programme and completed study stays at King's College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science.

At the same time, as part of his practice, he completed client secondments at major banks - at UniCredit Bank AG, London Branch in London in the team arranging international syndications and at ČSOB in Prague in the team providing legal support to mainly larger corporate clients.

"I very much appreciate the opportunity to join such a renowned team as the Prague office of Eversheds Sutherland. I am looking forward to applying my experience in transactional finance, restructuring and corporate law and at the same time contributing to the further dynamic growth of this office," said Vojtěch Laga.

"Vojta is an experienced and hard-working lawyer who will undoubtedly be a great asset to us and our clients who expect top legal services. I firmly believe that he will enjoy our friendly working environment," commented Bořivoj Líbal, managing partner of the Prague office, on Vojtěch Laga's arrival.

In 2024, the Prague office of Eversheds Sutherland celebrated 20 years since its establishment and 5 years since joining the global network that enables it to offer clients comprehensive legal support in all major jurisdictions.
